Welcome to the Blythe Barracudas website, where you will find information about the club and events coming up in the future.
The website is aimed at the members and anyone interested in finding out more about the club. We are a newly formed club and the first in the borough of Solihull for many years that has been granted affiliation to the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA). Blythe Barracudas SC now joins the ranks of some 1,600 affiliated clubs across England.

Members receive comprehensive coaching in swimming strokes and techniques in hour long sessions, up to 6 times per week. Additional courses are also run, to improve elements of the swimmers technique, such as competitive starts and turns. Membership is open to any swimmer subject to an assessment of their ability, demonstrating that they can achieve the minimum Club standard. We are keen to develop young swimmers in our teaching classes to ensure their techniques improve at an early age. We have swimming lessons catering for all abilities, from 5 years upwards. There is instruction on all four competitive strokes with emphasis on good technique. We offer a potential structured pathway to our competitive squads.

The squad offers an ideal opportunity for young swimmers who have natural talent and the desire to compete. The flexible approach of this club allows children to continue swimming even if it may not be their main sport. You can come for 1 session or all 6 sessions according to what you can manage! It is important the children enjoy swimming, but at the same time are pushed to achieve their full potential.

The aim of the club is to participate in low-level competitions and we regularly compete in local galas. Entering competitions gives the swimmers something to aim for and makes all their hours of training worthwhile.

Parents also have an important role in the Club, as volunteer members of the Management Committee and in supporting their children with coaching, time trials and competition. There is also a social aspect to the Club with a number of events anticipated for the coming year.

If your child is interested in some serious training, or maybe just a bit of healthy competition, then call our membership secretary
